You may have found this page when doom scrolling. Maybe you wanted to know what happened in the world today, and you turned to a news feed for the update. And maybe it's getting tougher to find what you're looking for.
You're not imagining it. It's getting harder for casual news audiences to connect with real reporting. We know the majority of Americans — and even more under the age of 40 — get at least some of their news from social media. And if you're reading this, you probably do, too.
Still, some social platforms are deprioritizing hard news, while others force journalists to compete with misinformation, spam, and conspiracy theories. And local news especially has never really thrived in that ecosystem.
TL;DR:
We're journalists building a news feed for news. We want to make it easy to find real reporting in a format you already like -- but we need your help.

If news is going to succeed online, it needs to be on its own terms. Relying on platforms with competing priorities and motives may be profitable in the short term, but — as we have seen over and over — it does not work in the long run. News needs its own platform, one that can cater to how its audience wants to consume it, but also aligns with the industry's long term survival.
That's where we come in: we're a pair of journalists who want journalism to thrive, and that's why we are building Forth.
Forth is a news feed for news, and it intentionally looks and feels like social media. Anyone can sign up for free and follow the topics and journalists they are most interested in. Unlike social platforms, all Forth posts come from real, verified journalists. Real reporting never has to compete with misinformation or spam on Forth; the feed exclusively is made up of quality journalism.
As committed as we are, we cannot do this alone — this only works with scale, so we need like-minded people on board, helping us grow. We are constantly improving Forth's coverage footprint, but recruitment of news organizations can be an uphill battle, as we cannot offer traffic at the same order of magnitude as Meta or X.
